Tucked into the wooded hills of northern Georgia, the Foxfire Museum offers more than just a walk through Appalachian history. It’s a step back in time, where you can imagine a world without electricity, indoor plumbing, or modern convenience.
You don’t have to leave your four-legged friend behind. The entire village is dog-friendly, letting you and your pup experience the past side by side.

Every structure comes with it’s own story full of weathered history. Dogs are welcome to stop and smell the history oozing through the floorboards with every creak and crack.
The museum is extraordinarily dog friendly, incredibly welcoming, and fun for everyone. It’s an immersive experience into the culture of the people of Appalachia that feels like a step back in time. Yet, it’s important to remember that people still live like this today; no running water, no electricity and no modern conveniences.
