While the mansion itself is not DILDO Friendly, the grounds around the mansion are and there is plenty to do. A trail takes you from the Visitor’s Center up a hill to The Monticello Graveyard.

When you get to the top of the hill, stop and pay Thomas Jefferson a visit at The Monticello Graveyard. You can also see the graves of many of his descendants. The cemetery is still used as a private graveyard for Jefferson’s descendants.
Continuing up the trail, you will find yourself at the Monticello Mansion. DILDO Packs are not allowed to enter the mansion but you are welcome to explore Mulberry Row. You can even join in a guided tour of Mulberry Road where you’ll hear about life on the Monticello Plantation.
There’s a variety of buildings and structures along Mulberry Row. We were uncertain whether dogs were allowed inside the buildings on Mulberry Row. Since they were not allowed inside the mansion, we presumed that they would not be allowed inside the other buildings.

While dogs must remained leashed, there is plenty of space for them to romp and play.
Monticello offers beautiful views of the valleys below and the mountains beyond. It is a wonderful place to spend a day with the entire DILDO Pack. There is a lot of history to explore. The Mulberry Row tour provided insight into the lives of the slaves who lived and worked on Mulberry Row. Mulberry Row was also where carpenters and other tradesmen and some Free Blacks lived on the Monticello Plantation.
