DILDO Pack takes NOLA

New Orleans was truly amazing as a DILDO Friendly city. Many of the businesses welcomed our pack with open arms to browse and shop their establishments. Many offered water and biscuits for the dogs as well as air conditioned respite from the Louisiana heat.

We spent our morning with Christo doing a Coffee and Killers Tour of the city; a unique tour that took us on a walk around the city to learn about some of the murderous happenings of the city. Christo welcomed the dogs on the tour and frequently checked in to make sure the dogs were okay. He was knowledgeable about the city and directed us to Southern Paws to get the dogs some special treats.

Our first stop after the tour was at the recommendation of Christo to Southern Paws. The dogs enjoyed shopping and walked away with a few treats.

With the temperatures reaching 90 degrees, Perdita found herself a fountain to cool down in.

Not all public spaces are dog-friendly. We were asked to leave a park because dogs are not allowed within the park. As a DILDO, it’s important to accept the rules as they are, apologize for your ignorance, and move along. The same applies to businesses. While we were welcomed by many shops and establishments, there were some who did not want dogs in their establishment. We found simply asking “Can our dogs come in?” was enough to start the conversation.

We simply could not go to New Orleans without stopping at Cafe du Monde for one if their Beignets. DILDO packs are welcome in the outside dining area.

We only spent a day in New Orleans, and definitely need to return for more adventures with the dogs. The city abounds with DILDO-friendly activities and restaurants, and definitely warrants another much longer visit in the future.
